Crunchy with a flavorful creamy dressing, bacon bits, and walnuts, this keto broccoli salad recipe is an easy low carb salad that is gluten-free and perfect for summertime.
Ingredients and substitutions
Broccoli – We will need fresh broccoli florets.
Onion – Red onions add a pop of color, extra crunch, and a lot of flavors. If you don’t like a strong onion flavor, you can marinate chopped onion in some white wine vinegar before draining and adding to our low carb broccoli salad.
Nuts – I use walnuts for my low carb keto salad, but you can use pecans, almonds, or even seeds instead. Sunflower seeds and pepitas will work great in this recipe.
Bacon – If you decided to use store-bought bacon bits, make sure they don’t contain anything other than bacon and oxidants. In other words, no sugar in our broccoli bacon salad!
INSTANT KETO MAYONNAISE – Or you can use any other keto friendly mayo that you like.
Vinegar – I use white wine vinegar, but you can substitute it with apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar.
Seasoning – This salad doesn’t need anything more than salt and pepper. However, if you want to spice things up, add some chili flakes or cayenne pepper.
Directions broccoli salad
Let’s start with the bacon! Heat a non-stick skillet over a medium heat. When hot, add the bacon and fry until golden brown and crisp. Remove from the skillet onto a paper towel. When the bacon is completely cooled, chop into small cubes.
Place the broccoli, onions, nuts, and bacon in a large mixing bowl.

For the sugar free salad dressing, we need to whisk together the mayonnaise and white wine vinegar in a small bowl. Only then do we pour it into the salad bowl. Next, season everything with salt and pepper, toss well, and taste. Add more salt if needed.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Serving ideas
It’s always a good idea to serve a salad with some bread. But not with any bread – keto bread.
